The newly appointed officials include DDGP 3 Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, who will lead the Ghana Prisons Service. A seasoned corrections professional, Baffoe-Bonnie has dedicated over 25 years to improving prison administration and inmate rehabilitation.
Her tenure has seen her occupy various strategic roles, including Deputy Director-General of Prisons (Administration) and Director of Technical and Services.
DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong has been appointed as the head of the Ghana National Fire Service. With extensive experience in fire safety and emergency response, Sarpong is expected to modernize the fire service operations and enhance fire safety awareness. Before her elevation, she served as the Director of Fire Safety, where she implemented proactive fire prevention measures nationwide.
DCI Samuel Basentale Amadu will take the helm as the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service. A seasoned immigration and border security expert, Amadu has over two decades of experience in managing Ghana’s immigration system. His appointment comes at a time when border security and immigration policies are crucial for national safety.
These appointments were announced shortly after the swearing-in of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector General of Police, replacing George Akuffo-Dampare, who had served as IGP since 2021.
The new security chiefs are expected to bring fresh perspectives and drive reforms within their respective agencies to enhance national security and public confidence.
