Professor Joshua Alabi Appointed GCB Bank Chairman

GCB Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Professor Joshua Alabi as its new Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director, effective immediately. This move follows the resignation of Mr. Daniel Kwaku Tweneboah Asirifi from the role. Apexnewsgh reports

Professor Alabi expressed his gratitude and honor at being chosen to lead GCB at this critical juncture. “I am deeply honored to lead GCB at this pivotal moment. Together with the board and management, we will work tirelessly to strengthen GCB’s position as a leading financial institution in Ghana and beyond,” he stated.

With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Professor Alabi brings a wealth of experience in academia, public service, and corporate leadership. His notable roles include serving as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), and Chairman of the Accra Polytechnic Governing Council (now Accra Technical University).

Professor Alabi’s appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming Annual General Meeting, as well as clearance from the Bank of Ghana and other regulatory bodies.

As Chairman, he will provide strategic oversight and guidance to GCB, furthering the bank’s mission to deliver innovative financial solutions and contribute to Ghana’s economic development.
