Interesting development coming Ghana Broadcasting Cooperation (GBC) The staff at national broadcaster GBC are expressing their dissatisfaction with their Director-General, Prof Amin Alhassan. Banners have been raised at the state-owned media house, conveying messages such as: “Prof Amin, your 4-year tenure is over. Please return from where you came”, “GBC is in need of a new Director-General”, “Prof Amin, your 4 years as DG at GBC have been a significant failure”, “GBC OB vans are no longer functional under the previous DG”, and “Our retirees are facing difficulties. Please provide them with their retirement benefits.” The workers are firm in their belief that the appointment of the Director-General concluded on October 1, 2023 and they do not want it to be extended. They assert that the conditions at the state broadcaster have worsened under the leadership of Prof Amin. Meanwhile, Prof. Amin is yet to respond to the angry staff.
