Video: I’m gay, I prefer men like John Dumelo – Pappy Kojo

Jason Gaisie, popularly known as Pappy Kojo, a Ghanaian hip hop and hiplife recording artist, has claimed on the Showbiz 360 programme on TV3, that he is a homosexual. Asked by host of the programe Giovani Caleb on Friday February 19 whether or not he was joking with the comment, he insisted with all seriousness that he is gay. “I am a homosexual man,” he said when told about rumours indicating that he is currently dating a popular female musician. He said in reaction to a question by Giovani about his alleged relationship with Yvonne Nelson. “Is that a joke?” Giovani asked him but he answered “No, it is not. I am gay bro. I am into men” “What is your kind of man? He was asked again. In answer, he said “Men like John Dumelo.” When his attention was drawn to the fact that laws of the land do no permit such act, he retorted ”You can’t change it.” Meanwhile Giovani believed he was joking with these comments which come at a time issues about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuals, Transgender and Queer Individuals (LGBTQI) have dominated discussions on the airwaves after Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Sarfo has expressed disapproval over the legalisation of homosexuality in the country. The Dome Kwabenya lawmaker during her vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament said “The issue of LGBTQI is an issue that when mentioned creates some controversy but “what I want to say is that our laws are clear on such practices. It makes it criminal. “On the issue of its criminality, it is non-negotiable on the issue of cultural acceptance and norms too. These practices are also frowned upon,” she stated emphatically. Director of LGBTQI+ Rights in Ghana, Alex Kofi Donkor, has asked Ghanaians to look at issues relating to LGBTQI, as human right issues. He told TV3’s Miriam Osei Agyemang on the Mid day news on Friday February 19 that persons who are identified as LGBTQI are verbally and physically attacked in the country. This, he said, must stop because they have fundamental human rights that must be respected and protected by the society. Explaining the reasons behind the setup of an LGBTQI office in Ghana, he said “We created an office space where we talk about issues which affect us as community and ways in which we can resolve the issues. “Let me quickly say in this country a lot of times we do experience a lot of violence and abuse that are perpetuated towards people who are identified as LGBTQI or people who are perceived as LGBTQI persons. When these violence are perpetuated against such people it goes unattended to, people do that with impunity.” Dr. Vladimir Antwi Danso, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, has urged Ghanaians, especially those in authority to be emphatic in the resistance of the LGBTQI phenomenon in the country. He expressed his apprehension on the heels of the LGBTQI establishing an office in the country in an interview with Alfred Ocansey on News 360 on TV3, Thursday February 18. Dr. Danso emphasized the position that “any international organization can support any other entity in any other country but that does not confer diplomatic immunity to persons who are going to use this facility, so if any Ghanaian is there doing anything, only Ghanaian laws apply to such personality. If any foreigner is patronizing the place his immunity inures from the diplomatic immunity according to the international conventions we know in Vienna. They can’t claim immunity just because the facility belongs to gays, lesbians, and that kind of thing”. He shares the view that such avenues are subtle ways of influencing the cultural norms and security of a sovereign society like Ghana with a potential international consequence for the country. “Ghana has not officially accepted LGBTQ and that kind of thing as an official position that we recognize it as a Human Rights thing, and therefore going further to have this thing established has repercussions not necessarily from government to government level repercussion but the general security implications, when I say security I’m talking about the broad sense security, I mean what is this?” he fumed. “That my 8-year old daughter is now going to learn touching femaleness, maleness? Come on she knows that by her features she is female, period! Nobody should teach her how to feel female or feel male and when that didn’t succeed when the syllabus was withdrawn, now they are coming in subtle ways. They’ve got a center where people can go and feel free and socialize, isn’t it? Then it goes down to young minds, innocent minds who begin to take it up, then they get a constituency, once they have a constituency they become a force to reckon with and then Ghana has got there, Mr. President you said we haven’t got there yet, now we are there, we’ve got to resist this with all our might, we’ve got to resist this” he charged. The international relations expert admonished all Ghanaians, especially those in authority to speak against the practice. “People who are in authority should make statements, to come out boldly, look I’m a teacher and I’m making my bold statement so we need to come out boldly and be able to accept what is good for our society and the future of this country’s development rather than hide behind internationalism and say: oh if we don’t do it some countries will not give us loans and whatever. Come on, loans and our future or loans for lesbianism and our present development, which one do we prefer? but let us be more intellectual, analytical about this and let us discuss this dispassionately, something is wrong, we can help them, they need help”. 3news Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Funny Face has been taken to a shrine, kept under a wicked spell by his colleague – Prophet

A popular prophet, Prince Elisha Osei Kofi has alleged that the cause of Funny Face’s unending woes is as a result of a bad spell that has been cast on him by one of his colleagues who he once fought with. According to the prophet, although Funny Face has reconciled with that particular person, the spell cast on him has still not been reversed at the shrine he was sent to. “Remember I once told you guys to pray for Funny Face and that someone has taken him to the shrine to embarrass him? And that he will run mad and roam the streets? Those things have started to manifest. A celebrity, a very popular person is responsible for all the tribulations Funny Face is going through. He took Funny to a shrine. Even though that person has reconciled with Funny Face, the spell has still not been reversed,” he stated. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the prophet has called on Ghanaians to intercede for the comedian else his condition will go from bad to worse. “I want all of us to continue to pray for him. All the things I saw about him have started coming to pass. If we don’t intensify our prayers, we’ll all wake up one day and realize that Funny Face has run mad,” he stated. Celebrities commiserating with Funny Face after arrest During his ordeal with the police, most celebrities including the ones that he had a rough relationship with extended a hand of support. The likes of Prince David Osei and LilWin, two of Funny Face’s nemesis did not hesitate to throw their weight behind the comedian in his struggling times. One can recall that in a social media post, LilWin expressed unhappiness about the ill-treatment meted out to the Children’s President by the police while Prince David Osei prayed for his mental health stability. This was unexpected especially in the case of Prince David Osei because prior to his post on social media, Funny launched scathing attacks on him. Funny Face accused David Osei of being a hypocrite who is pretending to love him. In the case of LilWin, his grudge with Funny has been in existence since 2019 based on two main allegations. The misunderstanding sprang when the Kumawood actor was pained about how Funny Face grabbed the Best Comedy Actor award at the 2019 Ghana Movie Awards claiming he [LilWin] deserved it. Also, LilWin was alleged to have played a key role in Funny Face and his baby mama, Vanessa’s separation which had a ‘bitter’ aftermath. Meanwhile, the comedian is currently not on good terms with most of his colleague actors including, Bismark the joke, Kalybos, General Ntatia, and so on. He has accused the above mentioned as being the cause of his separation from his ‘baby mama’, Vanessa. Celebration of Valentine in Upper East boring due to COVID restriction, as VRA light out, worsen the situation

Residents of the Upper East have expressed their dissatisfaction over the 2021 edition of the Valentine celebration, as they described it as boring. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing rate of infection across the country, President Akufo-Addo in his 23rd address to the nation banned some activities as a measure to reduce the increasing rate of COVID infection. “So, fellow Ghanaians, until further notice, funerals, weddings, concerts, theatrical performances, and parties are banned. Private burials, with no more than twenty-five (25) people, can take place, with the enforcement of the social distancing, hygiene and mask wearing protocols. Beaches, night clubs, cinemas, and pubs continue to be shut. Our borders by land and sea remain closed. All workplaces, public and private, must employ a shift-system for workers, in addition to the use of virtual platforms for business or work. Conferences and workshops can take place with all the appropriate protocols. However, I encourage the use of virtual platforms for such engagements. Restaurants should provide take-away services, and should, as much as possible, avoid seated services. The National Sports Authority and the Ghana Football Association should ensure compliance with the twenty-five percent (25%) capacity rule in our stadia, with spectators respecting the social distancing rule and wearing of masks”. However, it appears the COVID restriction ban by President Akufo-Addo isn’t the only predicament bedeviling the 2021 edition of Valentine, especially in the Upper East Region. As if the Volta River Authority (VRA) officials in the Upper East Region does not care about the VAL celebration, they decided to used a power outage to wish their customers a ‘HAPPY VALENTINE’ Engaging one of the event organizers in the region popularly known as CarlmaxColdsweat Daraan the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Xtrame Empire he said, there won’t be fun in this year’s VAL celebration due to the restriction ban by the President. However, he noted that aside from the restriction bans by the President which prevented public gathering, those who would have the wish to celebrate the valentine at the comfort of their homes cannot do so due to the power outage by VRA “Because of the restrictions, it means it won’t be fun, because nowhere to go to. Our traditional way of having fun is probably going to the bar, vea dam, and some other recreational places to mingle with some friends and love ones. But, now that restrictions have been put in place in these places, you can’t do. Even if you had the intention of doing it alone at home, here is the case, the whole region has been given light out it means, if your idea of having fun was sitting and having relaxation watching movie probably taking a drink with your loved one, you can’t even sit in a room because is very hot. CarlmaxColdsweat Daraan told Apexnewsgh.com Valentine’s Day is an annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Every year on 14 February people celebrate this day by sending messages of love and affection to partners, family and friends. Couples send Valentine’s Day cards and flowers and spend special time together to honour their love for each other. However, in some part of African, youth see Valentine as a period of having sex with their girl friends and boy friends and these in some area in the past have cause some shortage of condoms some locations.
