Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban S.K. Bagbin has appointed the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia to serve on the Parliamentary Service Board (PSB). The PBS is chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, Mr Bagbin. Other members of the board are the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Minority Leader, Mr Haruna Iddrisu and Mr Abraham Osei Aidoo, who is a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament and former Majority Leader. The Speaker thanked the committee for its advice and assured that he would proceed to appoint the persons named as members of the PSB. “But I want to note that the former Parliamentary Service Board had Honorable Hackman Owusu-Agyeman as a member of the board and Hackman Owusu Agyeman later became the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). “That one was not intrusion into the governance of Parliament by a political party. What is good for the gander is also good for the goose. Honorable members the board will be constituted and we will start our work,” he said. 3news Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Takes immediate steps to deal with the growing spate of armed robbery attacks, the rampant cases of murder. NDC to government
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pointed that the alleged killing of Sheikh Ali Ahmed Maikano AbulFaili Jallo, son of the late Ghanaian Tijaniyya Cleric, Ahmed Maikano Jallo of Prang, is open evidence of the general state of insecurity across the country. The respected Shaykh, the son of a renowned late cleric, Shaikh Abdulai Maikano of Jallo fame in Prang, died this Wednesday after he was allegedly shot by unidentified people. According to the statement signed by NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the late Shiekh Ali Ahmed Maikano AbulFaili Jallo was described as a renowned and devoted Muslim cleric who carried himself with dignity and commanded great respect among the Islamic community. “The NDC considers the news report that the Shiekh met his untimely demise in an armed robbery attack as most painful, suspicious and worrying, as it further goes to deepen the general state of insecurity in the country. “We use to this opportunity to urge the President to direct the Ministry of Interior to launch a full-scale investigation into the sad event that led to the death of the Sheikh, apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act, and offer true justice to his memory and the bereaved family. “We demand, as a matter of urgency, that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration takes immediate steps to deal with the growing spate of armed robbery attacks, the rampant cases of murder, and the general state of insecurity in the country. There can neither be progress or development in Ghana without peace. “The NDC wishes to express its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the Jalo family, the Tijaniyya fraternity, and the entire Muslim community for their loss.” Apexnewsgh.com/Ghana/Ngamegbulam Chidozie Stephen Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications. Withdraw the case, “don’t allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgement”
Stephen Atubiga has intensified his call for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the petitioner the former President John Dramani Mahama to withdraw the ongoing election petition. According to Mr. Atubiga, the party should not allow what he describes as ‘injustices judges’ to give an injustice judgment. “We should not allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgment. We are ready and standing by to face some national leadership of the NDC squarely after the case is over”. Below is the full statement: NDC / JDM should withdraw from the election petition. We should not allow the injustices judges to give an injustice judgment. We are ready and standing by to face some national leadership of the NDC squarely after the case is over. A lot of questions to ask. Most of the national executives should not even try seeking re-election. Whilst the like of General mosquito, Sammy Gymfi, Otokunor, and co must be re-elected. Unopposed if possible. 1)The EC headquarters strong room case would be settled the NDC way after the court. 2)The conspiracy theory in Kumasi and other areas about JDMs votes reduction would be settled the NDC ways. 3)we would know, how one million, seven hundred specifically given to it, just for the collation of results, and end results we got. 4) we will know how most national executives were not in talking terms during election time till date, and expecting to give JDM victory. 5) we will know how others deliberately ignored others who were able and ready to help give JDM victory. 6) why others were bent on sitting around JDM, especially on D day instead of on the ground to give JDM victory. 7) from JDM campaign team and the NDC team, who was in charge on D day , failed to coordinate for our victory. 8) why JDM campaign manager and his team did not declare JDM winner immediately after the election. And announcement of his transitional team. 9) from the youth wings, organizers wing to zongo wings have lots of questions for them after the election petition. Some should resign for their own interest. 10) JDM our leader today and tomorrow, and candidate today and tomorrow. Will equally be told the hardest truth, those who cussed his defeat, those who (had) and have no business around him. Those who could have propelled his victory, if he had sought their help. Especially why JDM with his experience, is refusing to see the direct and indirect traps around him For his defeat today and tomorrow? 11) JDM must know NDC party machinery is not religious, to be Mr nice and good father for all, especially in election periods. JDM must know he is occupying the vacuum of JJ as our leader for life today. JDM is holding 60/100 stake in the NDC party today. JDM is the only surviving former president and incoming president if he sits up. JDM should get it now that, blood must sometimes have to flow both internally and externally for NDCs victory Well, a lot of anger and disappointing issues to let out, after the election petition is over. Push me out of NDC and see what will happen – Koku Anyidoho dares party
Former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has called the bluff of the party following its decision to suspend him indefinitely. The NDC in a letter signed by the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia addressed to Mr. Anyidoho, dated 8 February 2021, disclosed that the decision to suspend the latter was reached based on two separate petitions to the party by two registered members of the party. “At the end of its deliberations, the following decisions were taken in accordance with articles 46 (I), 46(6), and 46 (8)(b) of the Party’s Constitution.” “That with immediate effect your membership of the NDC be suspended That the petitions be referred to the Party’s disciplinary committee for further action.” “You are therefore by this letter to take note, and notice is hereby given, that your membership of the NDC is suspended pending the hearing and final determination of the petition against your conduct,” the letter read. But speaking in an interview with Okay FM on Monday monitored by Kasapafmonline.com, Mr. Anyidoho who claimed he’s not received official communication over his suspension stressed that he cannot be pushed out of the NDC party. “Let me state unequivocally, nobody, nobody can kick me out of the NDC, let anybody dare push me out of the NDC and we’ll see what will happen. Anybody who’s attempting is bluffing…they are just bluffing. I’ve not received any letter I say they are bluffing. All I’m saying is that I will not destroy the NDC, in the same way we’ll work hard to ensure that the legacy of late Presidents Mills and Rawlins and all the cadres who have suffered will not be in vain. NDC shall not die, NPP will not die, CPP will not die, the democracy of Ghana will not die and Ghana will not die. Me Koku Anyidoho, where I am now, my sole duty is to ensure that the Republic of Ghana does not die, that’s all,” the former Director of Communications at the Presidency during the Atta Mills administration stated. Election 2020 Petition: Questions From SC Bench Have No Relation With Our Petition – Baba Jamal Clarifies
Deputy Director of Legal Affairs for the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Baba Jamal says the General Secretary of his party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia as a witness for the petitioner in the ongoing election 2020 petition did no wrong in his answers to the Supreme Court. At the end of the cross-examination by the Counsel of the 1st respondent, Akoto Ampaw over the witness statement given by Asiedu Nketia, the Bench of the Supreme Court sought to find out three things from the witness but he could not provide. But the former Member of Parliament for Akwatia Constituency reacting to the public argument that Asiedu Nketia failed to answer the questions from the Judges, said on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ Morning Show that the questions from the Bench have nothing to do with the issues before the Supreme Court. According to the former Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, none of the 5 issues pertaining to the petition that the Supreme Court has set aside to pass judgment bothers on the calculation of the NDC on the Presidential Election results. He noted that the pleadings of the petitioner, former President John Dramani Mahama are based on the figures of the Electoral Commission (EC); thus, the petitioner was clear in his pleadings that the figures of the 1st respondent are full of errors and thereby asking the Supreme Court to change the errors. He explained further that it is out of the pleadings of the petitioner that the Supreme Court set aside 5 issues to base judgment; reiterating that none of the three questions asked by one of the judges from the Bench has any relations with the issues before the Supreme Court. “We are talking about constitutional matters, whether the EC complied; we are talking about errors in the figures, whether they affected the results of the Presidential Election. If these are our pleadings, why will the Supreme Court ask for our calculation? Did we bring our calculation before the Supreme Court?”, he inquired. He, however, pointed out that the Supreme Court did not fault in asking those questions as they are allowed during cross-examination but insisted that the public must know those questions asked by one of the judges don’t relate to the issues before the Supreme Court. Don’t lecture us, answer my questions – Akoto Ampaw to Asiedu Nketia
Lead Counsel for the 2nd Respondent in the 2020 Presidential Election Petition, Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, demanded during cross-examination that witness for the petitioner, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, answered his questions without verbose explanations. In the estimation of the Lawyer Akoto Ampaw, the witness’s explanations to some of the questions amounted to an attempting to lecture the court, rather than answering the questions he was being asked in the witness box. The first witness of the petitioner was confronted in court Monday with video evidence of some NDC press conferences where he seemingly declared the petitioner a winner of the presidential elections. Mr. Nketia admitted that he was indeed the one in the video and that “those are my words” but denied declaring John Mahama winner in the tapes played. According to him, he only expressed his expectations that John Mahama would win the presidential elections on the face of the information available to him at the time. Mr. Nketia attempted to explain how he arrived at his ‘expectation’. “… My Lords permit me, in all the 7 parliamentary and presidential elections that have been held in this country before this one the presidential candidate and the political party which wins and controls parliament ends up winning the presidency so I…” While at it, Mr. Ampaw interjected, demanding that he answers the questions being asked. “Mr. Asiedu Nketia, don’t lecture us, answer the questions, you can’t lecture us,” he said. 3 News Please contact Apexnewsgh.com on email apexnewsgh@gmail.com for your credible news publications.
