The leadership of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Talensi District has officially announced the sudden demise of their illustrious son and active party member Dr. Edward Naabil.
The party leadership in the Talensi Constituency described his death as a great loss to the people of Talensi, Upper-East Region and mother Ghana.
They added: “He will be greatly remembered”.
According the party , “His last public political appearance at the Talensi constituency was on 26th February, 2023 during the party Reconciliation Meeting at Tongo. He was full of life and his message centered on peace, unity and the need to build consensus as a way of winning the Talensi Seat in 2024”.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SUDDEN DEMISE OF DR EDWARD NAABIL, NPP UPPER-EAST REGIONAL RESEARCH/ELECTIONS OFFICER
With a heavy heart, we write to formally confirm the sudden demise of Dr. Edward Naabil at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was admitted on Tuesday 7th March, 2023 for treatment. However, on Wednesday 8th March 2023, he met his untimely death while efforts were made to refer him to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further management.
Until his demise, the late Dr. Edward Naabil was the NPP Upper-East Regional Research/Elections Officer and a Senior lecturer at the Bolgatanga Technical University.
The late Dr. Edward Naabil has been an integral member of the NPP since the 2000s. He played various roles starting from the Yameriga Electoral Area, the Talensi constituency, TESCON and at the Regional level. He has been a Constituency Campaign Team member since 2012.
The late Dr. Edward Naabil celebrated his birthday on 18th February, 2023, exactly 18 days before his untimely demise. His birthday was widely celebrated by people across the region and beyond.
His last public political appearance at the Talensi constituency was on 26th February, 2023 during the party Reconciliation Meeting at Tongo. He was full of life and his message centered on peace, unity and the need to build consensus as a way of winning the Talensi Seat in 2024.
The people of Talensi constituency therefore received the sad news of his untimely demise with shock and disbelieve.
We express our deepest heartfelt condolences to the family especially the wife, children and parents, the NPP family, his friends and love ones.
Mr. Maxwell Mansoba Naab, the Talensi Constituency Chairman of the NPP has directed that all party flags at the Constituency, Electoral Area and Polling Station offices be flown at half-mast.
Burial and funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
The demise of Dr. Edward Naabil is a great lost to the people of Talensi, Upper-East Region and mother Ghana. He will be greatly remembered.
