Alhaji Abubakar Inusah Chief Director Upper East Regional Coordinating Council has hinted that every traditional ruler is expected to come out with a substantial plan to help minimize issues of chieftaincy conflict in the region.
The Regional Director also revealed the Regional Coordinating Council’s readiness to support the House of Chiefs with any activity that will promote peace in the region.
“If there is a need for any capacity building for the chiefs, it beholds on the House of Chiefs to make the request to the RCC and I can state emphatically that the last House of Chiefs meeting was funded by the RCC. It isn’t that RCC has done nothing”.
Mr. Inusah also speaking about the ongoing Bawku conflict said: “on the issue of Bawku conflict, is getting out of control but REGSEC is still on top of the issues. It isn’t every security measure we put out for public consumption. So, as they adopt new strategies, we will also come out with new strategies to ensure that we are able to resolve the issue”. He said
He however pointed out that REGSEC’s major challenge for now is the Walewale stretch or if you like the Bolgatanga- Tamale highway where sometimes they mostly attack vehicles.
“We are working with our counterparts in the North East Region to ensure that practice is stopped henceforth”.
He spoke to A1 radio monitored by Apexnewsgh.com on Wednesday April 26, 2023.
