The Paramount Chief for the Sirigu Traditional Area Naba Atogumdeya Roland Akwara III has called on NGOs, government, and other institutions should try and organize seminars for the youth in the region and especially those at the conflict zones.

Naba Atogumdeya Roland Akwara III, who was speaking at a forum organized by A1 radio Dubbed: Maintaining Peace In The Upper East Region; The Role Of The Media, Traditional Leaders & CSOs monitored by Apexnewsgh.com on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, said, “The youth are our strength especially the chiefs, whatever we want to do in our communities we use the youth and there is a version in the bible that says “the devil finds a job for an idle person”.

“If you look at most of the youth, they are not working and once they are not working, if there’s any misunderstanding that rises, they begin to exhibit conflict”. He said
The Chief believes NGOs, government, and other institutions have a role to play, especially by way of youth engagement.

“I think that NGOs,s, governments, and other institutions should try to organize seminars. Even if not giving them jobs but at least we should be engaging the youth as how they can live in their everyday lives, so that all these things will be reduced”

However, he also advised the media to be impartial in the reportage
“In conflict zones, there are always two parties and in those two parties, there’s always one party that holds the truth. So, as a media, when you noticed that you have taken information from one party, don’t be quick to report otherwise, you are going to go to the other faction and the other person will be forced to respond with force or other facts” he advised
