The ongoing deliberation to determine the victor of the Nigerian presidential election held on February 25th is currently taking place in Abuja. Apexnewsgh.com report
This court session will address the petitions submitted by opposition candidates from the People’s Democratic Party, Peter Obi of Labour Party , and the Allied People’s Movement. These candidates are seeking to challenge the declaration of President Bola Tinubu as the election winner.
Anticipation surrounding the court ruling has led to heightened tensions throughout the country, reflecting the divisive nature of the election. In response, a significant number of soldiers and police officers have set up roadblocks in key locations within the city center and surrounding areas of the capital. This precautionary measure is intended to address concerns about potential protests that may occur depending on the court’s decision.
To ensure transparency, the court has decided to televise the proceedings live. However, it should be noted that the court did not allow live broadcasts during the earlier stages when lawyers presented their cases.
