The Cabinet of President Nana Akufo-Addo has given the green light for the state-owned Graphic Communications Group Limited to be listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange. Apexnewsgh reports
This was disclosed by Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar during a working tour of the media house, where she also denied allegations that the president plans to sell the company to his associates.
According to the minister, the Cabinet carefully considered the pros and cons before making the decision to list the company. The Information Ministry has been engaging with the boards of the relevant agencies and stakeholders to explore the best way to execute the listing.
Abubakar dismissed speculation that the president intends to sell the company to private individuals, stating that no investor has been approached or expressed interest.
The process is still in its early stages, with the engagement of a transactional advisor and the opening up of the company for listing.
The minister invited interested parties to prepare to acquire shares in the company, emphasizing that the listing is a transparent process. The move aims to enhance the company’s operations and contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian economy.
