In a significant step towards his political aspirations, Atia Figo Awonekai, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, submitted his nomination forms to the Bolgatanga Municipal Electoral Commission. Apexnewsgh reports
This move marks his official entry into the race for the position of Member of Parliament.
Awonekai’s submission was met with strong support from prominent figures, including the Upper East Regional Minister, Alhaji Dr. Bin Salih Hafiz, and the Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Asanga Rex.
Additionally, NPP UE Regional Treasurer Daniel Nsobila Ayine, his Constituency Chairman, and several executives were present to show their support.
Through his Facebook post, Awonekai expressed his gratitude for the encouragement he received from his party members and leaders.
His nomination sets the stage for his campaign, as he vies for the opportunity to represent the people of Bolgatanga Central Constituency in Parliament.
