The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been hailed as a beacon of development by the constituents of Sefwi Akontombra in the Western North Region. Apexnewsgh reports
During a campaign tour, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate, affectionately known as “Napo,” received overwhelming support from the community. Dr. Prempeh’s tour of the Western Region aimed to share the NPP’s message of hope and rally voters to support the party in the upcoming December 7 elections.
The tour covered key constituencies, including Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai, Sefwi Wiawso, Bia East and West, Sefwi Juaboso, Suaman, Aowin, Bodi, and concluded in Sefwi Akontombra. Locals praised the NPP’s significant contributions to development, particularly in Sefwi Akontombra, since the party won the seat from the NDC in 2016. Residents expressed their determination to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the presidential election.
Dr. Prempeh addressed the chiefs and residents of Bopa and Nsawura, thanking them for their steadfast support and highlighting the NPP’s development record.
He urged constituents to re-elect Mr. Alex Tetteh, citing his initiatives, such as the new community centre in Nsawura, which have boosted the NPP’s appeal. Dr. Prempeh encouraged comparisons between the NPP’s achievements and those of other parties, emphasizing that a people-centred government is defined by tangible improvements in citizens’ lives.
Party activists and local chiefs applauded Mr. Tetteh for making the NPP attractive to loyalists and floating voters. Mr. Tetteh expressed optimism about retaining the Akontombra seat, promising to work towards “breaking the 8” and continuing transformative projects. The Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Rockey Joojo Obeng, and Dr. Kwaku Afiriyie reinforced the message of development, urging continued support for the NPP’s vision.
Dr. Prempeh’s selection as running mate was previously confirmed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, amidst preferences and objections from various party members. Despite this, his campaign tour has demonstrated significant support from the community, solidifying the NPP’s stance in the region.
