In a recent media address, Ato Forson, the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members of Parliament, voiced his concerns after Speaker Alban Bagbin declared a parliamentary session adjourned due to the absence of members from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Apexnewsgh reports
Mr. Forson did not hold back in his criticism, labeling the NPP’s behavior as a significant violation of Ghana’s Constitution and the Standing Orders of Parliament. Forson highlighted the consequences of the NPP’s repeated absences, stating that such actions have led to tangible financial losses for both the state and its citizens.
He accused the NPP of lacking a clear vision and utilizing poor campaign tactics, further emphasizing their disconnection from the needs of the people. “We call on Ghanaians to see the NPP’s behavior and punish them accordingly,” Forson urged, reinforcing his party’s commitment to representing the interests of the populace.
He assured the media that the NDC members are dedicated to their work in Parliament, committed to serving Ghana and its citizens, unlike their absent counterparts from the NPP.
As the session adjourned, Forson’s remarks underscored the importance of accountability and action in the political landscape of Ghana, with the NDC determined to separate themselves from the shortcomings of the NPP.
