McDan Aviation has expressed outrage over the Ghana Airports Company Limited’s (GACL) decision to deny the company access to its private jet terminal, citing misinformation and unrelated issues.
In a statement, CEO Kwaku Ampromfi vehemently denied allegations that McDan Aviation owes GACL $3 million for the operation and use of the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal.
Ampromfi clarified that the company has made significant payments, including a recent instalment last week, with plans to resume further payments in January 2025.
He also addressed an ongoing legal dispute involving a parcel of land acquired from GACL on Spintex Road, explaining that a third-party litigation issue has resulted in court proceedings, prompting the temporary suspension of payments.
McDan Aviation criticized GACL for conflating unrelated issues and adopting a harsh stance, despite ongoing discussions aimed at resolving the matter. The company reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the issue amicably, emphasizing its willingness to engage in constructive dialogue with GACL to achieve a favourable outcome.
As the dispute continues, McDan Aviation remains hopeful for a swift resolution, allowing the company to resume its operations without further interruption.
