When questioned about his position as Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, Dr. Omane Boamah stated that his work in that role has come to an end, specifically undertaken for the 2024 general elections.
“No Ghanaian should have any fear about my impartiality,” he emphasized. “In fact, I can be the chairperson of the EC and I will be impartial, that is my nature.” Dr. Omane Boamah clarified that he took on the director role purposely for the elections and had already informed the NDC that his job was done.
In a separate matter, Dr. Omane Boamah advised Ghanaians to avoid seeking enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) if they don’t meet the requisite qualifications. He warned that bypassing proper recruitment procedures could have severe consequences, including physical harm or even death during training.
Dr. Omane Boamah, drawing from his experience as a medical professional and understanding of GAF operations, emphasized the importance of adhering to established recruitment processes. These standards ensure the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of recruits and maintain the Armed Forces’ high operational standards.
“I will be the first to advise such a person not to do so,” he affirmed, reiterating his commitment to ensuring only qualified individuals join the GAF. For those interested in applying, the GAF recruitment portal is available, with requirements and procedures outlined.
