Mahama Appoints Nii Lante Vanderpuye to Oversee National Road Improvement Programme

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, former Member of Parliament for Odododiodio, as the National Coordinator for the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP). Apexnewsgh reports

This appointment puts Vanderpuye at the forefront of enhancing road infrastructure across Ghana, a critical area of national development.

DRIP, launched in July 2024 by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, aims to improve road networks across all 275 constituencies. The programme focuses on empowering Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the necessary resources and machinery to facilitate effective road maintenance and construction.

Vanderpuye’s appointment is significant, given his longstanding advocacy for transparency and accountability in government-led infrastructure projects. His experience in key ministerial positions, including Minister of Youth and Sports and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, makes him an ideal candidate to oversee DRIP’s implementation.

As National Coordinator, Vanderpuye will work closely with relevant stakeholders to achieve DRIP’s objectives, which include decentralizing infrastructure development and enabling local authorities to undertake road projects with efficiency and accountability.

With Vanderpuye at the helm, Ghanaians can expect significant improvements in the country’s road infrastructure, ultimately boosting economic growth and development.
