Dr. Kurt Nawaane Hands Over Newly Built Clinic to Sakoti Community

In a heartwarming ceremony on Sunday, the Nabdam Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, proudly handed over a newly built clinic to the Chief and people of the Sakoti community. Apexnewsgh reports

This eagerly anticipated facility, equipped with a ward, theater, and maternity ward, was established following a request from the Sakoti chief during a festival two years prior.

Dr. Nawaane revealed that he utilized both his National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) fund and personal resources to finance the project. During his remarks, he showcased the clinic’s modern amenities, which include tiled floors, well-installed electrical and plumbing systems, as well as toilets and baths to enhance the patient experience.

The clinic’s significance has already been underscored by its role in the community, having conducted operations, including surgeries for hernias, hydrocells, and polyps. With ample land available for future development, Dr. Nawaane expressed hope that this clinic could evolve into a full-fledged hospital, benefiting even more families in the region.

During the handover ceremony, Dr. Nawaane took a moment to express his gratitude to the chief and the elders of Sakoti for their support and acceptance of the project. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining the clinic, urging locals to take pride in this new health facility and keep it in excellent condition.

The clinic has been furnished with ten beds, allowing the community to start receiving patients right away. The MP thanked everyone who contributed to the project, highlighting their collaboration as a vital factor in its success.

In attendance was Maclean Ayara, a Physician Assistant in charge of the Sakoti Health Centre, who spoke on behalf of the District Director who could not be present. Expressing profound gratitude, Ayara thanked Dr. Nawaane, the community, and all involved for their combined efforts in bringing the clinic to fruition.

He candidly shared the past challenges the health center faced, often needing to detain more than three or four patients overnight due to limited space. The new clinic arrives at a crucial time, providing essential room to care for pregnant mothers, children, and women in need.

However, Ayara appealed to organizations and individuals for support in their next initiative: establishing a children’s unit or ward. He reassured everyone that they intend to collaborate with community members to ensure the new building is well maintained and utilized to its fullest potential.

The atmosphere was electric as the elders of Sokoti Community gathered for the handover ceremony. Their faces beamed with excitement and joy, unable to contain their gratitude. This momentous occasion was made possible by the Member of Parliament’s kind gesture, and the elders seized the opportunity to express their heartfelt thanks.

With sincere appreciation, they acknowledged the MP’s efforts, highlighting the significant impact of his contribution to their community. The elders’ heartfelt words echoed the importance of recognizing and valuing the support they received.

As they extended their gratitude, the elders’ voices were filled with emotion, reflecting the deep appreciation they felt. Their sincere thanks not only acknowledged the MP’s kind gesture but also reinforced the strong bond between the community and its leaders.
