Yesterday, August 6, 2025, will forever be etched in Ghana’s history as a day of immense loss and sorrow.
A tragic military helicopter accident in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region claimed the lives of eight remarkable individuals who dedicated their lives to serving the nation.
The deceased include Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, known for his tireless efforts in strengthening the nation’s security apparatus; Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, who worked relentlessly to protect the country’s natural heritage; and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, whose expertise and leadership were invaluable to national security.
Also among the victims were Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC; Mr. Samuel Aboagye, former NDC Parliamentary candidate; Squadron Leader Peter, a brave and skilled pilot; Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, whose bravery and professionalism inspired his colleagues; and Sergeant Ernest Addo, a devoted member of the armed forces.
