Member of Parliament for Bawku Central Mr. Mahama Ayariga who was standing trial over alleged procurement breaches in connection with the purchase of an ambulance has been acquitted and discharged by an Accra High Court.
The Bawku legislator, together with six others, was charged by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for contravening the Procurement Act.
However, the accused persons were acquitted and discharged on Friday, May 7, 2021, by the court, presided over by Justice Afia Serwah Asare–Botwe, after it upheld a submission of no case filed by the defense lawyers.
Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe represented the accused persons in court.
