A lot of Upper East Media platforms fear reporting regional conflict issues— Peace Council Secretary

The Upper East Regional Peace Council has revealed, that majority of the media outlets in the region do not report conflict ongoing issues in the region because they still has a lot to do as far as understanding conflict issues are concerned.

“A lot of our media still has a lot to do as far as understanding conflict reporting and because of that, a lot of them are even afraid to report on the conflict”.

According to Mr. Ali Anankpieng Executive Secretary Upper East Peace Council, “A lot is happening in Bawku, but we don’t know what is happening because the media are afraid to report because of fear of making mistakes. But you will avoid making mistakes if you address your mind to understanding what the context”. He stated

Even though he acknowledged that not mouch reports are coming from the media operating in the region as far as conflict is concerned, he acknowledged that the media is playing their role but also insisted that their best is not enough. “So, as far as the media is concerned, you are doing your best but not enough is been done to bring the issues to the floor for all of us to understand to be able to resolve. What you are doing today is a step to making it work out for”. He said
