Akufo-Addo Directs Appointees to Cooperate with Accountability Processes

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has instructed his appointees to subject themselves to accountability processes initiated by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC). Apexnewsgh reports

This directive, revealed by Richard Ahiagbah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications, demonstrates Akufo-Addo’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

According to Ahiagbah, the NPP has no history of fleeing from accountability, and its officials will be available to answer questions. He emphasized that the party’s focus is on preparing for the 2028 election, while also addressing accountability concerns. Ahiagbah’s statements suggest that the NPP is willing to cooperate with the NDC’s efforts to promote accountability, including the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) drive.

The NDC has vowed to hold former government officials accountable for corruption, with National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia promising to investigate and prosecute corrupt individuals.

The party’s commitment to accountability is part of its efforts to curb corruption and promote good governance.

As Ghana continues to navigate the complexities of democratic governance, the importance of accountability cannot be overstated. Effective accountability mechanisms are essential for promoting transparency, preventing corruption, and ensuring that public officials are held responsible for their actions.
