Mathew Silas Amoah, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Bolgatanga East, has fired back at his opponent, Dr. Dominic Ayine, who mocked him for allegedly deceiving the public about his educational qualifications. Apexnewsgh reports
Amoah emphasized that having a PhD or Doctorate degree shouldn’t be the benchmark for determining who can develop their people.
“Politics goes beyond education and physical appearance,” Amoah stressed. “It’s about development, and if someone has the capabilities to develop their community, regardless of their educational background, they deserve a chance”.
Amoah drew inspiration from Jerry John Rawlings, one of Ghana’s most revered leaders, who didn’t hold a doctoral degree but left a lasting impact on the country. “Education is valuable, but it shouldn’t be the sole measure of a leader’s potential”.
This response comes after months of criticism and mockery from Dr. Ayine, who questioned Amoah’s credentials. The two candidates have been at odds over their contributions to the constituency, including the construction of boreholes.
Amoah’s message resonates with many, highlighting that leadership ability transcends academic qualifications. As the parliamentary elections approach, this debate is likely to continue, with Amoah’s response sparking a wider conversation about the true measures of effective leadership.
