Bawumia Leads Presidential Race with 38.9% Support, Survey Shows

A recent survey conducted by Professor Smart Sarpong of Kumasi Technical University has revealed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, is leading the presidential race with 38.9% support. Apexnewsgh reports

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress’s flagbearer, trails closely with 36.1% support.

The survey shows Bawumia leading in multiple regions, including Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Eastern, North East, Western, and Western North. Other presidential aspirants have garnered a collective 3.6% support. Notably, 21.4% of voters remain undecided as of April 2024.

Regional highlights include the North East region, where Bawumia enjoys 60% support, and the Volta region, where Mahama has 75.7% support. The survey’s 30-day data collection period ended on April 30th, 2024.

This baseline study provides insight into Ghana’s presidential race, indicating a tight competition between the two leading candidates.

As the election season progresses, it remains to be seen how the numbers will shift and who will ultimately emerge victorious.
