Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made an emotional appeal to voters in the Upper West Region, drawing a sharp contrast between himself and his opponent, former President John Mahama. Apexnewsgh reports

Addressing a crowd of clergy, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the critical choice facing voters in the upcoming election. “It’s a choice between myself and the former president,” he declared. “But he has been president before. I haven’t been president before.”

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the significance of allowing him to demonstrate his skills, saying, “You’ve previously seen his handwriting. You haven’t seen my handwriting yet.” He implored the electorate to think about the possibility of fresh leadership.

On the issue of accountability, Dr. Bawumia underscored the difference in voting for former President John Mahama and himself. “For him, he won’t need to come back again. It will just be bye-bye and you won’t see him again. He will come for four years. He has only four years. So when you give him four years, he will not come back again. No accountability. As for me, I know that in four years, I have to come back and speak to you. And you ask me questions.”

Dr. Bawumia pledged to work tirelessly to earn the trust of the people, saying, “I will work very hard. I will work very, very hard so that when I come back, I can answer your questions.”

In a poignant conclusion, Dr. Bawumia appealed to voters to consider the long-term implications of their decision. “So for me, I believe that you can give me that opportunity so that I can implement so many of these ideas.”

With his impassioned plea resonating with the crowd, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made a compelling case for change, urging voters to embrace the prospect of fresh leadership and the promise of accountability and responsiveness in governance.
