In a disturbing case of child abuse, a 30-year-old carpenter, Alhassan Abdulai, alias “Borga Lasco,” has been sentenced to seven years in prison with hard labor for defiling a 15-year-old girl in Walewale, North East Region. Apexnewsgh reports

The Nalerigu Circuit Court, presided over by Francis Ayamwuni Asobayire, delivered the verdict on Thursday, January 9, 2025, after finding Abdulai guilty of the offense.

According to court records, Abdulai, a resident of Walewale, lured the victim with GH₵10 at a local eatery joint in October 2024. He then dragged her into a corner and defiled her. The victim, unable to bear the pain, reported the incident to her parents, who subsequently lodged a complaint at the police station. Abdulai was arrested by the West Mamprusi Municipal Police Command and put before court.

This case echoes similar incidents of child abuse and defilement, which have resulted in severe punishments for perpetrators. For instance, a 19-year-old carpenter was sentenced to 50 years in prison for defiling a 7-year-old girl. In another case, a mason was jailed for 15 years for defiling a 10-year-old girl.
