CAF U-20 Cup of Nations: Black Satellites goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad apologises after defeat to Gambia

Black Satellites goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad has apologised for the team’s defeat to Gambia in their final group game on Monday at the Nouadibou Sports Stadium.

Ghana threw away an early lead to lose 2-1 to the Gambia in this Group C game in the ongoing Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

Fatawu scored the opening goal of the game for the Black Satellites in the eighth minute with a beautiful strike with his left foot.

The Gambian got the equalizer before the 20th-minute mark.

Ghana goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad committed a horrendous mistake resulting in Ghana conceding its second goal in the 34th-minute kind courtesy of a strike by Kajaally Drammeh.

The Kotoko goalkeeper failed to save a direct free kick from entering the net.

He has apologised for the team’s performance and assured the fans of a win ahead of their next game.

 

 

Ghana qualified out of Group C as the third-best team having accumulated four points from the group games.

The Black Satellites face a very strong Cameroon team who are unbeaten in the ongoing competition on Thursday.
