Hon. Akolgo Emmanuel Ayinpanga, the Assembly member for the Bongo Beo Tanko Electoral area, has lamented the devastating impact of the storm, which has forced some residents to seek shelter with relatives.
Speaking to Apexnewsgh, the Assembly member pointed the community is grappling with severe vulnerabilities, particularly in terms of food and accommodation. The storm’s fury also destroyed electricity poles, leaving many without power.
Hon. Ayinpanga said he has duly informed the relevant authorities in the Bongo district and is appealing to NGOs, philanthropists, and other well-meaning individuals to provide aid to the affected community.
He also revealed that in a show of solidarity, the MP for Bongo, Hon. Lawyer Charles, and the district education director have visited the affected area to assess the damage. Ayinpanga has also been touring his electoral area, offering sympathy and support to his constituents.
The storm’s fury also resulted in injuries to some residents. Furthermore, several schools in the area suffered significant damage, including Tankoo Primary School, Tankoo JHS, and Nayirekura Primary School, which were all partially ripped off.
As the community struggles to come to terms with the devastation, Ayinpanga’s efforts are a beacon of hope in these trying times.
