Communication member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Stephen Atubiga has condemned actions exhibited by the party personalities tasked to be a watchdog at the EC strongroom Rojo Nunoo and Dr. White, for their reckless and unaccepted reasons they gave for leaving the EC strongroom

After the election declaration by the Electoral Commission, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came out boldly rejecting the EC declaration result. According to NDC, their representatives were not present at the EC strongroom when the declaration was made. According to them, their representatives were sent out by the EC chairperson to deliver a document to the NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama.
However, the reason from these individuals was that they were sent out by the EC chairperson to deliver a document to the NDC candidate John Dramani Mahama.
An excuse Stephen Atubiga described as reckless and unacceptable reasons. However, he also blamed the campaign manager for sleeping on his job. According to the angry Stephen Atubiga, the campaign manager Joshua Alabi should have appointed more party people at the EC strongroom to avoid such an experience.
“Alabi supposed to be there, the campaign director supposed to be there and a whole lot of national executives some of them are supposed to be there but, we left individuals Rojo and Dr. White to be there and they come out telling us that the woman sent them to deliver a document to our candidate my brother, that is a cock and bull story. It is the most reckless, unacceptable reasons coming from the two of them. They delivered an envelope which is not even heavier than a load and two of them left the strongroom to go and meet John Mahama, were they not fools can’t somebody stay behind? My question to them was, do they have the final result from the EC knowing very well that our result has been tampered with, do they have those figures from the EC, who do they call at the national level? So, these are questionable issues that we as a party have to look into. Yes, we were rigged, but who left the door ajar”.
“Are you saying if we are up to eight in the strongroom the woman will say all of them should go out, that will not happen unless they decide to arrest everyone in the strongroom but that didn’t happen? we have to be frank to ourselves, we have failed on our own, we did not protect our own interests. It is the duty of the campaign manager to announce that his candidate has won before EC declaration, it is the duty of the campaign manager to tell the world that my candidate will be forming government immediately, that is the tension you create to let the EC sit up and it is our own, that gave information to the opposition that we were not ready”.
