A devastating fire broke out at the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project on Tuesday evening, but thanks to the swift response of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a larger disaster was averted. Apexnewsgh reports
The blaze, which began around 5:52 p.m, engulfed five 40-foot containers serving as offices for the project.
Firefighters from the Sege and Devtraco Fire Stations sprang into action, working tirelessly to contain the inferno. After over three hours of intense efforts, the team managed to bring the fire under control, completely extinguishing it by 9:00 p.m.
Although the containers and their contents were entirely destroyed, the firefighters’ heroic efforts prevented the flames from spreading to nearby housing units. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are set to commence to ascertain its origin. The GNFS has been widely praised for their swift response and effective firefighting efforts that safeguarded the housing units.
