At the center of the storm was Samuel Dubik Mahama, the former Managing Director of ECG. As the details emerged, it became clear that 1,357 out of a total of 2,491 containers expected to be cleared had vanished without a trace. The situation was exacerbated by the financial constraints that plagued ECG, leading to the discontinuation of a dedicated fund for clearing shipments prior to 2022.
