Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare has thanked Ghanaians for their unwavering support and prayers throughout his tenure. Apexnewsgh reports
Despite his recent removal from office, Dr. Dampare’s message was one of appreciation and gratitude, acknowledging the overwhelming love and encouragement he received from across the country and the world.
Dr. Dampare specifically thanked former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing him as the youngest IGP in the Fourth Republic, as well as President John Dramani Mahama for their cordial working relationship.
He also expressed his appreciation for the support and guidance from religious and traditional leaders, civil society organizations, and the international community.
Reflecting on his 35-year career in the Ghana Police Service, Dr. Dampare expressed his gratitude for rising from General Constable to IGP and thanked his colleagues for their dedication. Despite his removal, Dr. Dampare reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana, emphasizing that he remains energetic, disciplined, and dedicated to serving his country with integrity.
“I have served the Ghana Police Service for 35 of my nearly 55 years of life with an unblemished record,” Dr. Dampare stated. “I remain energetic, committed, and enthusiastic about serving this nation that I love.” He wished the Police Service well and encouraged officers to continue upholding professionalism. Dr. Dampare’s statement concluded with a pledge to contribute to Ghana’s progress in any capacity he can.
