Former MASLOC CEO and COO Sentenced to Prison for Financial Crimes

In a landmark case, former CEO of MASLOC Sedina Tamakloe and former Chief Operating Officer Daniel Axim have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in causing financial loss to the state. Apexnewsgh reports

Tamakloe received a 10-year sentence with hard labour, while Axim was sentenced to five years with hard labour.

The duo was found guilty on 78 counts including stealing, conspiracy to steal, money laundering, and causing loss to public property in violation of public procurement laws. The trial had been ongoing since 2019, with the state presenting six witnesses to support their case.

Tamakloe had been tried in absentia after skipping bail to seek medical treatment overseas, while Axim testified in person but did not call any witnesses to testify on his behalf. The verdict serves as a warning to those in positions of power that financial crimes will not be tolerated, and those found guilty will face the full force of the law.
