The Upper East Regional Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party who doubles as the Assembly man for the Zoliba-tidongo electoral area in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region Hon. Charles Taleog Ndabon has made some donations at the just-ended annual inter-community football gala competition organized by Meehiboug Youth Association (MYA), a youth group located at Meehiboug, a suburb of Zanlerigu.
Speaking at the football gala Hon. Ndanbon acknowledged the effort Meehiboug Youth Association (MYA), in the area, especially by way of using football to bring the people of Nabdam together. He believes that is a step in the right direction.
Meanwhile as part of his way to motivate and support the football gala initiative, Hon. Ndanbon donated a set of jerseys and a football to the Pelungu the winning team and donated a set of jerseys to the runner-up Tindongo United, a Damol-Tindongo-based team. He also awards football boots to both the best goalkeeper and the best player of the tournament. And as well supported Meehiboug Youth Association, the organizers of the event with an amount of (Ghc 500.00) Five Hundred Ghana Cedis.
Meanwhile, following numerous appeals by the group for support during the awards ceremony of the thirteenth edition of the annual inter-community gala competition held at the Gundork JHS park on Sunday.
The group noted that the lack of sponsorship for the competition has affected the vision of the association.
“We have always intended to organize a more inclusive and engaging football gala over the years but the lack of sponsors to our cause has hampered this idea from becoming a reality; we normally do this through our individual contributions over the years.” The group revealed

However, after listening to the group appeal for sponsorship, the regional NPP Organizer Hon. Ndanbon made a pledge to support the Organizers of the tournament in the upcoming 2023 edition. According to him, he wants the 2023 edition to be more attractive. Hon. Ndandon did not also hide his feeling with regard to the ward. He believes advised Organizers of the event to make sure awards are done the same day immediately after the tournament instead of shifting the following day which in a way made it more stressful for the invited guests.
This year’s competition started on Wednesday, January 4 and ended Saturday, January 7. It was the thirteenth edition and twelve teams were made to battle for the trophy.
