Last week, 63-year-old Igor Nikolaev was admitted to the medical facility due to heart problems. His condition was critical, and doctors promptly admitted him. Following that, the composer underwent successful coronary artery bypass surgery. After the procedure, he was transferred to the intensive care unit, where he remained in serious condition. Initially, he required the assistance of a ventilator to support his breathing, but it has since been discontinued, and he is now able to breathe on his own.
As of now, the composer has been transferred to the surgery ward. According to the Telegram channel Baza, the initial days of recovery were challenging, but Nikolaev’s condition has started to improve. He is now able to move around the ward and perform gymnastic exercises. Due to anti-coronavirus restrictions in the hospital, family members are not currently allowed to visit him. If there are no complications during his recovery, Nikolaev is expected to be able to return home next week.
Meanwhile, Yulia Proskuryakova, his wife, has not provided any comments on her husband’s condition. Family sources have clarified that she is not intentionally withholding any information, but rather experiencing fear amidst this situation.
