Former Deputy National Secretary of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho earlier said the decision to maintain Professor Mike Ocquaye as the Speaker of Parliament is very prudent.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) nominated the Speaker of Parliament for the 7th Parliament Prof.Mike Ocquaye to be maintained as the Speaker for the eighth Parliament.
Meanwhile, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) also nominated Alban Bagbin as their choice to lead the house as Speaker of Parliament.
But responding to news of the NPP maintaining Prof. Mike Ocquaye, Mr. Anyidoho in a tweet sighted by Apexnewsgh.com said: “If Prof Mike Oquaye is being retained as Speaker, it is a very prudent governance decision. With the tight Parliament we are going to have, we have no room to experiment with a rookie Speaker”.
It appears his choice of Speaker of Parliament Mike Ocquaye didn’t succeed becoming the eighth Speaker of Parliament as he expected.
However, following his earlier post on twitter, some Ghanaians were asking whether he is still disappointed with the outcome of the election, after electing Alban Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament? They are waiting patiently for his answer.
