The National Deputy Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen has confessed that all is not rosy in the country. Apexnewsgh.com reports
According to Mr. Obiri Boahen who spoke to Apexnewsgh.com on the increasing rate of food commodities and how difficult it has become for Ghanaians to raise Ghc 2.00 for just a ball of Kenke which was initially sold at the rate of 0.50 pesewas and Ghc 1.00 respectively.
Sharing his opinion on the issues of hardship raised by Ghanaians, Mr. Obiri Boahen confessed that it will be unreasonable and insensitive on his part to say that is rosy.
However, he believes by December- January there will be abundant of food in the country.
“It will be unreasonable on my part to say that all is rosy, it will be insensitive on my part to say that all is rosy. But I believe that very soon food will be in abundance because honorably we are in November. Some years gone by in November some will be getting ready to harvest maize but this time, people starts planting maize not quite long ago. So, I can foresee that from December-January, plantain, cassava and maize will be in abundance in the market because of the change in the rainfall pattern, it has affected a good number of farmers”.
