Communication member and National Democratic Congress (NDC) contestant for 2020 party flagbearership position Mr. Stephen Atubiga has revealed, that the NDC 2020 campaign manager Joshua Alabi contributed hugely for the party set back in the just ended December 7, elections which sees NPP Akufo- Addo emerged victorious.

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress has at its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) meeting, held on Monday 29th June 2020, appointed members of the Party’s National Campaign Team that will prosecute the party’s campaign in the December 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
Professor Joshua Alabi is the National Campaign Manager, with Hon. Alex Segbefia as his Deputy. Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo -Lartey, (rtd) is the Director of Operations of the campaign, with James Agyenim Boateng as the Campaign Spokesperson. Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh and Ms. Margaret Ansei are the Deputy Campaign Spokespersons, whilst Gen. R S Blay (rtd) is the Strategic Advisor to the Campaign Team.
But, according to Mr. Atubiga, appointing someone as a campaign manager does not mean that, your duty is to be following the aspiring President or the candidate around. He said a campaign Manager, the duty of Mr. Alabi should have been to coordinate and strategically position the candidate very well in line with party structure to enable them to get a victory.
“There is a saying in Kusasi that if someone raped your wife out there. Yes, the fellow may be a rapist but at this same time, you have to also look around and see the dressing or the appearance of your wife that attracts the rapist. In moving forward, I think the campaign manager, they don’t make someone a campaign manager just by following the candidate around beside the party structure. You are a campaign manager to the candidate so that you can coordinate and strategically position the candidate very well and making sure that in line with the party structure with the candidate to get the victory”. He explained
“It was the responsibility of the campaign manager Joshua Alabi to make sure that he coordinates from the candidate private office or private structure with the party to make that our election result was collated very well”. He stressed
He further stated that Mr. Alabi should use the former Presidential aspirants who contested him to be his campaign coordinator at various regions to enable effective monitoring and supervision.
“And also, Alabi could have used the former Presidential aspirants who contested him be to his campaign coordinator at various regions, ‘because there is saying that too much meat doesn’t spoil soup’ and how can a whole NDC party structure, the EC strongroom which is the heart of the final hard work of all our struggle, we only have two people in that strongroom”?
