Julius Debrah Shares Insights on President Mahama’s Administration

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has opened up about his reappointment and what Ghanaians can expect from President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s administration in the next four years.

In an exclusive interview with Channel One TV, Mr. Debrah shared his thoughts on his role and the president’s vision for governance.

Mr. Debrah expressed his gratitude for being reappointed, acknowledging that he wasn’t entirely sure if he’d be given the opportunity again. “I knew I could be part of the presidential team, but I wasn’t too sure. It’s the prerogative of the president,” he stated.

When asked if President Mahama’s appointments were based on loyalty, Mr. Debrah clarified that competence and the ability to deliver results take precedence. “Not necessarily. The main reason is that the president wants people who can work. In addition, I’m someone who can second guess him,” he explained.

Mr. Debrah assured Ghanaians that the incoming administration will prioritize minimizing mistakes and fulfilling its promises. He emphasized the importance of accountability in governance, stating that “without accountability, nothing works. You have to ensure people do not abuse their positions and that public funds are managed responsibly”.

As President Mahama prepares to take office, Mr. Debrah’s insights offer a glimpse into the administration’s vision and priorities. With a focus on competence, accountability, and results-driven governance, Ghanaians can remain hopeful for a brighter future.
