Kwadwo Asamoah becomes third Ghanaian player to play for Serie A side Cagliari

Kwadwo Asamoah became the third Ghanaian to play for Cagliari in the Serie A on Sunday.

The 31-year old joins Alfred Duncan, Godfred Donsah as the only three Ghanaians to play in the club’s history.

Asamoah joined the club in the January transfer window on a free transfer.

He made his debut for the rossoblù club against  Crotone which they won 2-0.

The former Juventus wing-back replaced Joao Pedro in the 77th minute after Cagliari had a man sent off.

Charalampos Lykogiannis was sent off in the 75th minute forcing manager Eusebio De Francesco to fall on the Ghanaian.

Leonardo Pavoletti opened the scoring after 56 minutes before Joao Pedro added the second from the spot four minutes later to earn Cagliari victory.
