Former Deputy Minister for Information under ex-President John Dramani Mahama, Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has issued a challenge to Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia, urging him to focus on his role as the head of the Economic Management Team (EMT) and delegate digitalization efforts to Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
In a recent statement, Mr Kwakye Ofosu argued that Dr Bawumia should concentrate on economic recovery and stabilizing the cedi against the dollar to alleviate the challenges faced by disillusioned Ghanaians during President Nana Addo’s administration.
Questioning the Vice President’s emphasis on digitalization, Mr Kwakye Ofosu suggested that if the economy were effectively managed by the EMT, there would be no need for a new digitalization initiative led by the Vice President. He criticized Dr Bawumia for prioritizing slogans over practical economic solutions.
The challenge from Mr Kwakye Ofosu highlights the ongoing debate over the government’s approach to economic management and digitalization efforts in Ghana.
