Former President John Mahama has pledged to promote gender equality if elected in the upcoming 2024 elections.
During a community engagement event in the Bolgatanga East District, he stated that if given the opportunity, 30% of his appointed positions would be occupied by women.
Mr. Mahama emphasized that his commitment to gender equality aligns with his vision for a more inclusive and diverse government. He believes that having women in decision-making roles is crucial for achieving gender balance and unleashing the untapped talent and capabilities of women.

Addressing the socialist principles of his party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Mahama highlighted the party’s strong focus on equality and social justice.
