Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South Constituency have thrown their weight to the Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia ahead of the upcoming NPP special Electoral College elections and the National Delegates’ Congress which will determine the party flagbearer for 2024.
The Manhyia Member of Parliament Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh when addressing delegates and party men and women stressed that the Vice President’s, sterling qualities, experience, and sacrifices make him the best foot in the quest at clinching a 3rd term electoral victory in 2024 which has become known in the party parlance as “Breaking the 8”
The MP reiterated, that for them in Manhyia South, they believe Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has served well as Vice President, “defending the programmes and policies of our government and remains the only existential threat to the electoral fortunes of John Mahama and the NDC, of all the candidates vying for the flagbearership slot”.
“We wish Dr. Bawumia well, as he campaigns across the 47 constituencies of the Ashanti region, Manhyia South reiterates its unflinching support for him to lead the party to make history in our country’s electoral politics and democracy”.
The Vice President will be spending 11 days in the NPP’s stronghold Ashanti Region where he will be engaging delegates in the 47 constituencies sharing ideas on why they should choose him as their party’s flagbearer.
