In a recent statement, Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Damongo, has clarified that he has no interest in the chieftaincy affairs of Damongo. Apexnewsgh reports
This comes after a ban was imposed on him by Yagbonwura Bi-Kunuto Soale Jewu Soale, the King of the Gonja Kingdom.
The King had accused Jinapor of being a threat to the peace and unity in Gonjaland, prompting the Minister to respond. In his statement, Jinapor emphasized his high regard for the chieftaincy institution, the Overlord of Gonjaland, and all other chiefs. He reiterated his commitment to his role as an MP and Minister, focusing on contributing to the development of Ghana and his constituency, Damongo.
Jinapor has urged the public to disregard the allegations made against him, stating that they are untrue. As a bona fide Gonja Prince, he seeks to maintain a positive relationship with the chieftaincy institution while prioritizing his duties as a public servant.
The clarification from Jinapor aims to address the concerns raised by the King and reassure the public of his commitment to the well-being and development of Gonjaland.
