He highlighted that Burkina Faso and other AES member states have distanced themselves from such institutions, questioning their relevance to the Ghanaian legal system.

During a recent commentary, Prof. Nsoh urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to reassess its ties with these international bodies, emphasizing the need for Ghana to assert its sovereignty. “What do they have to do with our legal systems?” he questioned, calling for a more independent approach to governance.

He argued passionately against allowing what he views as degrading and reminiscent of slavery to dictate how Ghana operates. “The NDC government must start thinking straight,” he insisted. “Don’t let these institutions decide how we run our country. They can come and pitch camp here, but if the Chief Justice interferes with our legal system, she’s gone. Period.”

Prof. Nsoh’s remarks reflect a growing sentiment among certain factions within Ghana advocating for a stronger stance on national sovereignty and self-determination, as the debate intensifies over the influence of international organizations on local governance and legal matters.
