Ogyeahoho Gyebi II, who also holds the position of Chief of Sefwi Anwiaso in the Western North Region, disclosed that the government provides him with a meager allowance of GHS 300.00.

He emphasized that the insufficient compensation for employees of the House has impeded the institution from effectively fulfilling its responsibilities.

The National House of Chiefs is responsible for exercising appellate jurisdiction in cases or matters pertaining to chieftaincy that have been decided by the Regional House of Chiefs in their respective regions.

During an interview on Accra-based Joy FM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, Ogyeahoho Gyebi II expressed frustration with the treatment the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs provides to the leadership of the House, comparing it to how secondary school children are treated.

He disclosed that even his hotels receive the same GHS 300.00 allowance whenever he travels. The issue of low remuneration for workers of the House has been a longstanding concern that urgently needs addressing, according to him. He emphasized that these challenges are hindering the institution from fulfilling its mandate effectively.
