NDC Alleges NPP’s Vote-Buying Tactics in Rural Areas

Apexnewsgh

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Aide to John Dramani Mahama, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of attempting to influence rural voters with material gifts. Apexnewsgh reports

In a recent Facebook post, Madam Mogtari claimed the NPP is distributing items like salt, kerosene, and Maggie cubes to sway rural communities ahead of the 2024 elections.

Mogtari criticized the NPP’s approach, saying they’re avoiding discussions on the country’s economic challenges. Instead, they’re focusing on short-term inducements to garner support from vulnerable populations.

She urged rural voters to see through these “superficial attempts” and consider the hardships they’ve endured. Mogtari emphasized that these gifts don’t address the broader struggles Ghanaians face due to the current economic situation.

“Don’t be misled by temporary gifts,” she cautioned, encouraging voters to remember their past struggles when casting their votes.
