Constituency organisers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region have called on President John Dramani Mahama and the party’s national leadership to fairly allocate government appointments that reflect their significant contributions to the party’s electoral successes.
During a press conference in Accra, the organisers voiced their frustrations over a perceived ongoing neglect that has left them feeling overlooked despite the critical role they played in securing victories for the NDC. The sentiments were echoed by Mr. Gad Nene Ackwreh, the NDC Ada East Constituency Organiser, who urged swift action from President Mahama to address their grievances.
“We are calling on President Mahama to immediately address this matter and ensure that the organisers who sacrificed their time, energy, and mindset to ensure the success of the election get what is due to them,” Mr. Ackwreh stated emphatically.
He highlighted the vital nature of the constituency organisers’ roles in mobilising grassroots support and driving voter turnout, underscoring that their efforts were pivotal to the party’s achievements at the polls.
“We want the parliamentarians to know that without us, the organisers, they might not have received the votes they had,” he added, reinforcing the message that their contributions should not be understated.
The group collectively appealed to the NDC leadership to rectify what they described as a longstanding oversight, warning that the continued lack of recognition could adversely affect morale and threaten party unity as they move forward together.
Their call for fairness is not just a demand for acknowledgment but a reminder of the crucial grassroots work that underpins the party’s strength and electoral viability.
