Mustapha Foyo Gbande, Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), launched a blistering attack on the public officers and appointees of former President Akufo-Addo’s government.
Gbande accused them of being unpatriotic and claimed they were “possessed with witchcraft” due to their actions, which he believed were designed to undermine the NDC government and create difficulties for Ghanaians.
Gbande’s comments were sparked by the current energy sector crisis, which has left Ghana on the brink of a power crisis. A report from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) revealed that nearly $90 million is urgently needed to avert this crisis. Gbande questioned why the previous government would deliberately leave behind such a mess, especially when it has direct implications for the well-being of Ghanaians.
“The NPP government did not have Ghana at heart,” Gbande stated, his voice filled with passion. “The evil they have done to us… You will ask yourself if it’s indeed our brothers and sisters who have done this to us.”
Gbande’s allegations are likely to ignite further political debates as Ghana navigates the challenges of transitioning power. With tensions running high, many will be watching closely to see how these allegations impact the political landscape.
