The National Democratic Congress (NDC) officers in the Savannah Region have categorically denied allegations of collusion with Samuel Abu Jinapor, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, to acknowledge his victory as MP-elect of Damongo. Apexnewsgh reports
In a comprehensive four-page statement, Salisu Be-Awuribe, the party’s regional secretary, clarified that the executives did not represent Adam Mutawakilu, the NDC candidate, in any discussions with Electoral Commission officials, nor did they endorse Jinapor.
The statement emphasized that, from their perspective, polling station results had not been collated, implying they don’t recognize Jinapor as MP-elect.
Be-Awuribe explained that their presence at the Regional Interparty Advisory Committee meeting was due to an invitation from the Regional Director of Elections, where they attended in their capacities as Regional Chairman and Secretary.
This distinction underscores their commitment to upholding democratic processes.
The NDC’s stance highlights concerns about electoral transparency and accountability.
By denying collusion allegations, they reaffirm their dedication to fair electoral practices.
