The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has vehemently rejected the re-collated parliamentary results for seven disputed constituencies, declared by the Electoral Commission (EC). Apexnewsgh reports
The NDC alleges that the EC manipulated the results in favor of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The disputed constituencies include Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, Ahafo Ano South West, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central. The NDC claims that the re-collation process was neither impartial nor credible, and that the EC’s actions undermined the principles of fairness and transparency.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC condemned the process, describing it as unlawful and a violation of Ghana’s democratic values. The party warned that electoral malpractice has no statute of limitations and hinted that it will hold the EC accountable for its actions.
Despite rejecting the results, the NDC praised its supporters for remaining calm and avoiding clashes with security forces during the re-collation process. The party urged its members to continue maintaining peace in the face of what it described as attempts to intimidate the public.
